Monté Raymond | Owner, BSc, CPT, Speed Coach

For the past 10 years I have been an athlete competing in both the national and international stage. Let me tell you how it all began…

In 1992 I was named Athlete of the year while attending a sports school by the name of “Birchmount Park Collegiate”.  2 years later in 1994, I established my place in the Canadian Track and Field, where I won the first of 3 National Championship titles in the 400m hurdles. (1994,1996,2001)

Throughout my athletic career, I have achieved the All-American status by winning the NAIA National Championships at the University of Southern New Orleans.  Another accomplishment was winning the Canada Summer Games 400m hurdles championships as well as becoming Champion in the Canadian Junior National 400m hurdles.

In 1997, I was transferred to division 1 with a full Athletic Scholarship to the University of Iowa, where I displayed brilliance with hard work and determination.  This led me to being named the most improved Athlete of the Year.  By the time I graduated with a “Honors in Bachelors of Science Degree in Sport Management”, I had established the second fastest 400m hurdle time in the University of Iowa.  In 1999, I ran a personal best of 49.64s, which placed me third on the Canadian all-time 400m hurdles ranking and during the process of winning the 2001 National title, I managed to set the championship record time of 49.78s!  I was also a 2-time Commonwealth Games semi finalist, a finalist in the 1999 Pan American Games and 2001 IAAF World Track and Field Championships

Besides a stellar 400m hurdles career, I have been a regular on the Canadian 1600m relay team that ran 3:04.58 and faster at the Penn Relays resulting in the second fastest time for a Canadian Relay team in 2003.  Despite my busy schedule, I found time to volunteer at the variety village as Coordinator of disabled/able body exercise programming. In addition to this, I have been featured in a Chum-City tv commercial supporting a program called “Tutors for kids” – as well I have been an ambassador for clothing line, Lululemon.  I am committed to train Athletes to excel and reach their professional status – and push you to your limit to achieve your desired fitness goal.
